Jennifer Dior
Jennifer Dior is a native of Smithtown, Long Island, New York. She earned a bachelor of music performance from Manhattan School of Music in New York City. She has lived in Charlotte, North Carolina since 1991 with her husband Rick Dior.
She has performed as principle flute with Opera Carolina Orchestra; and as second flute and third flute/piccolo with Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, she has played with many orchestras in the region, including Greenville (SC) Symphony, Greensboro (NC), SC Philharmonic, Charleston Symphony (SC), Winston-Salem Symphony, North Carolina Symphony, Roanoke Symphony, and Asheville Symphony.
Her chamber music experiences include Queen City Wind Quintet, Pentavia Woodwind quintet, Flute 4, and numerous others. She has played on Music at St. Peters, Providence Chamber series, and Museum series in Columbia, SC.
She currently teaches at UNC Charlotte, Queens University of Charlotte, and Arts+ in addition to maintaining an active home studio. She has taught flute students from age seven to adults. Since August 2019, she has been the conductor of the Charlotte Flute Choir. She is a board member of the Charlotte Flute Association, whose mission is to promote the unity of the flute community in the Charlotte area of all things flute related through education and performance events throughout the year.
